About Us

The Workshop

Located in Station Road, Hemyock, Devon, the freehold premises are approximately 4500 sq ft and are fully equipped with up to date spindle moulders, table saws, routers, morticers, crosscut and re-saws that are needed for modern woodworking. Other equipment includes a recently refurbished full dust extraction system and a spray booth, permitting finished joinery to be dressed with a full range of surface finishes including stain, cellulose varnish, paints and special effect products.

The workshop team has been built up over a number of years to bring a diversity of skills to the manufacturing process, in order that CBL Joinery can offer a cost effective and timely response to clients’ requirements for high quantity joinery.

The Care for the Environment

All timber products used are sourced only from suppliers who meet the requirement of FSC and PEFC regarding timber from sustainable managed forests.

All timber waste products from the workshop are recycled and used for fuel for the workshop heating system. Other waste products are disposed of in accordance with a Waste Disposal Policy and in accordance with recognised Best Practice.

Careful planning of timed deliveries by outside transport contractors benefits the company by diminished costs and benefits the community as a whole by use of less fossil fuels and the avoidance of congestion in the adjacent streets of Hemyock village.

The Quality Control and Workshop Safety

Quality of products is controlled by a rigorous and ongoing inspection and sampling procedure by the workshop management.

Good health, safety, and welfare standards are maintained by the whole team and regularly checked by an independent outsourced consultant. The majority of the team hold CSC cards and CBL Joinery are working towards all team members to be holders of the appropriate card by the end of 2010
